What Is a Crew Scheduler?

Becoming a Crew Scheduler in our SOC is a great opportunity to work in the heart of the airline’s operation. There are many moving parts and pieces in this customer service position. Crew Schedulers navigate situations such as weather disruptions, Associates’ illness and maintenance delays. They come up with viable solutions to ensure that each flight goes out safely and on time with a legal and qualified crew.

Republic’s Crew Schedulers work at our state-of-the-art SOC in Indianapolis. You do not need a college degree or any previous experience to become a Crew Scheduler. If you’re 18 years of age, have a high school diploma and are dependable, decisive and able to thrive in a fast-paced and high-pressure work environment, you’d make a great Crew Scheduler! What Is a Dispatcher?

Dispatchers are directly involved in monitoring flight operations, individual flight planning and monitoring, providing weather information for flight crews, coordinating with ground operations on any crew or aircraft changes and much more.

Crew Schedulers coordinate with and can find themselves transitioning to a Dispatcher role after a year or more of successfully filling the demands of Scheduler. If you would like to enjoy a challenging and rewarding career as a Dispatcher but have no previous experience, become a Dispatcher Apprentice. The Republic Aircraft Dispatcher Apprenticeship Program offers paid training and a great career opportunity. Highlights include:
